About us

This site is designed specifically for international house hunters looking for a property in Italy.   It works under the premise that if you knew ‘exactly’ where you wanted to live you would be able to contact local agents directly and not be casting your net so widely.

Here, on this site, we have brought together (from agents and private sellers alike), properties in the Monferrato with character and/or potential that we feel would be of interest to overseas purchasers. For this reason we do not promote town flats or run-of-the-mill properties (unless of specific quality in a place of historical interest or outstanding natural beauty).

We offer language support skills to the vendors and the agents giving assistance with correspondence and telephone contact: A service for which they pay (not you).

If you would like to come and visit properties, we can help arrange local accommodation and co-ordinate between different vendors/agents if the properties in which you have an interest are not from one source.

If you select properties from this site requesting further information an email will be sent by us to the vendor/agent of each property.  It is up to the vendor/agent to make contact with you.  If they have not contacted you within 7 days, feel free to contact us directly on enquiries@somewherespecial.it and we will chase them up for you.

Our own experience in purchasing property in this area gives us the expertise to help you in many ways, including identifying local contractors or professionals who may be able to assist you acquire the property in an area that is indeed ‘somewhere special in Italy’.

NB.  Before committing to visiting any properties and getting your hopes up please read the section ‘Buying Property in Italy’, what you need to know is that simply acquiring the property can cost as much as 20% of the purchase price by the time you pay the agent, the notaio, the taxes and the interpreters.
